On 14 April 2012, Vishu is celebrated all over Kerala. While i was reading the newspaper, one death anniversary photo in a newspaper caught my attention.
It was the photo of Nandana and i am quoting the words in that column for all of you.

This is the first death anniversary of Nandana on 14th April 2012 on the day of Vishu.
Let us all pray for the little Nandana's soul and pray to Almighty God that K.S Chitra gets the power to overcome all her sorrows and live with the fond memories of her sweetest daughter with the power of music.
14 April 2011 - South Indian singer KS Chitra's daughter Nandana aged 8 years died today at Dubai.
Nandana was the only daughter of the singer K.S Chithra and her husband Vijayashankar.
Chitra's daughter Nandana fell into the swimming pool while staying at Emirates Hills located in Dubai.
Chitra always used to say that she got Nandana after praying for 15 years to Lord Krishna.
This shows how much shocking it will be for this renowned singer of Kerala.
Chitra and family went to Dubai to take part in the "AR Rahman Hits" show and while staying there this shocking incident took place.
Chitra had arrived at Dubai to participate in the show at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on 14 April 2011.
What Really Happened - KS Chitra and family were preparing to go out for rehearsals in the morning.
They saw that the Front door was left open and that Nandana was not inside the house.

They went outside and saw Nandana (KS Chithra's Daughter) lying in the swimming pool.
They took her out from the pool, and rushed her to the hospital at Jebel Ali. But she was already dead.
Chitra was also at the house , but her daughter might have went outside without anyone noticing as everyone was busy.
Nanadana might have fallen into the swimming pool as this place was not much familiar to the child.
The dead body will be sent for forensic checking by Dubai Police and was taken to Shaikh Rashid hospital where the dead body will be embalmed and then sent to Chennai were funeral will be done.
She got the daughter "Nandana" after lot of years of praying and she is a true believer of Guruvayoorappan (Lord Krishna)
Nandana was born after the film Nandanam was released.
In the malayalam movie "Nandanam" K.S Chitra has sang a song "Kaarmukil Varnante Chundil Cherum Odakuzhalinte" which is a very touching song.
Today on 14 April 2011 Thursday which is believed to be the day of Lord Krishna and one day before Vishu celebrations , the God had taken this little child with him.

On the day of tragedy , Chitra was with Nandana 10 minutes before the incident happened.
Chitra put Cartoon on TV for Nandana and went to take bath.
During this time Nandana went to the swimming pool through the bedroom door which was not locked.
The child liked water and used to swim in that pool many times in the past with the presence of others.
But this time the child was alone and she would have struggled in the swimming pool and no one saw her.
She drowned and when taken out itself she was probably dead.
The doctors at the Dubai Jebel Ali hospital said that the lungs of Nandana were filled with water.
The death was caused due to cardiac arrest and upon examining it was found that cerebral death had happened.
KS Chitra is now slowly recovering from the shock caused by the death of her beloved daughter.
But the loss of Nandana will always hurt Chitra even though she is trying to console herself.
On 15 April 2011 at 4 pm, the funeral of KS Chitra's daughter Nandana, took place at the A.V.M funeral place in Vadapalani.
KS Chitra's family friends, relatives, celebrities, singers .etc came to Chennai to console her and be a part of this saddest moment of her life.
Thousands of people had visited the house of Chitra at Dasarathapuram and also went to the funeral place.
KS Chitra has fans in every part of the world, and so Chennai was the attention of the world with huge crowd who gave their last looks at Chitra's daughter.
Noted persons like Sreeekumaran Thampi, SP Balasubramaniam, Ilayaraja, S Janaki, P Suseela, Sharath, Rajamani, Sujatha came to Chitra's house.
On 15th Friday morning by 10.30 am, the dead body of little Nandana was taken to "Sruthi" , the house of KS Chithra at Chennai near Dasharathapuram.
All arrangements have been made for people to come and have a last look at Nandana.
The funeral of KS Chitra's daughter will be done at 4 pm in the evening at Chennai Vadapalani AVM Funeral (Burial) Ground.
On funeral day of Nandana on April 15 ,the fans of Chitra stood along the roads from her home to AVM.
The dead body of Nandana was taken in a vehicle which moved slowly through the crowds to the funeral place.
Thousands of people who have gathered around there, threw flowers at Nandana.
It was difficult to explain Chitra's condition. When Nandana's body was placed at the house, she placed her head over the mobile mortuary and weeped.
Chitra's close friends and relatives did not know how to console her.
Everyone had seen only the kind, smiling face of KS Chitra.
No one could look at Chitra , she was broke down with sadness and had no tears left to shed.
KS Chitra is the Chinnakkuyil of South Indian music lovers and she has won over 6 National awards. But it could not replace her lost daughter Nandana.
Keralites and their children used to sleep hearing the "Tharattu" songs of Chitra.
Everyone thought that Nandana was the luckiest kid to enjoy the "Tharattu Patukal" directly from Chitra.
But it could not last for much time, Fate had took Nandana away from Chitra.

Nandana had some birth defects and so she required special attention at all times.
There were 3 servant maids (Ayahs) to look after Nandana at Chitra's house.
Usually a maid was taken with Nandana to look after her. But unfortunately in the trip to Dubai , the maid was not with them.
Nandana was a very happy child and loved her parents very much.
She always wanted the presence of Chitra or Vijayashankar with her.
Chitra loved her daughter 'Nanadana' very much. Whenever she went on trips or programs, she used to buy new dress for her child.
Nandana was 8 years old only, but Chitra had already bought dress for her up to the age of 15.
Chitra and daughter used to go on vacation trips to many places in India and abroad.
They also went on Pilgrim visits to many places such as Gutuvayoor, Attukal Temple, Mookambika, Puttaparthi Sathya Sai Baba. etc.

Chitra used to celebrate Vishu every year at her house with Husband Vijayashankar and her daughter Nandana.
Nandana's School has closed for vacation on April.
This time in 2011, Chitra had an unavoidable program 'AR Rahman Hits' show in Dubai.
So she decided to take Nandana with her so that they can enjoy Vishu at Dubai.
According to the maids, Nanadana had left Chennai happily on Tuesday 12 April.
But they did not think that this was her last trip. No one could bear it, when the dead body of Nandana arrived at Chennai.
Idea Star Singer Judge Sarath is a close friend of Chitra and said that he used to play with Nandana whenever he went to her house.
He said that it is impossible for him to think that Nandana is not here.
Nandana used to be looked after by a maid Chinnu who is a native of Thamalam.
Chinnu had went back to her house , when Chitra and family went to Dubai.

On 12 April 2011 before the Vishu day, Chitra's family went to the Dubai program.
Nandana is a child who is believed to be born with the blessings of Lord Krsihna (Guruvayoorappan).
In all years Chitra and Nandana used to visit Lord Krishna temple on Vishu day and this time as Nandana was not able to go to the temple, may be Lord Guruvayoorappan decided to call her to his place.
And on the day of Vishu, Chitra came back to Chennai with the dead body of Nandana.
Now we can only console her by saying that, "Chitra was lucky to look after a child like Nandana who was the dearest of God."

On 15 April 2011 on the day of Vishu in Kerala , the funeral of KS Chitra's daughter will take place at Chennai making the entire Keralites turn into tears.
There is no one who dislikes Chitra , everyone loves her sweet voice and respects her.
This is the reason why everyone is disappointed with happened to Indian singer KS. Chitra.
Chithra became unconscious after hearing the death news of her beloved child Nandana.
Chitra's husband Vijayashankar also became shocked by this incident and was admitted to a nearby hospital at Dubai.
The death of Chitra's daughter happened at morning 9.00 am (Dubai time) due to drowning in swimming pool.
On 14th April 2011 , the dead body of Nandana was taken to Chennai by flight at 9.30 pm.
The dead body of Chitra's daughter will be taken to Chennai where funeral will be conducted.

This was why Chitra used to take her daughter everywhere she goes. especially on foreign trips.
Chitra and daughter has arrived at Dubai to be part of a musical show.
AR Rahman' sister A.R Rehana, Naresh Iyer, Sayanora, Abdul Salam Benny Dayal, Vijay Prakash and other singers and celebrities came to UAE to participate in the concert organised with his famous songs.
KS Chitra was staying at the house of Dileep Rahulan who was a well known Indian business man.

The Music show will continue to take place as the tickets were already sold out and cannot be postponed.
So the show will be held without the presence of KS Chitra who has been the female voice in many of AR Rahman's hit songs.
The date and time of Funeral ceremony of KS Chithra's daughter Nandana is being decided by relatives.
KS Chitra and family has build a new house at Trivandrum named "Krishna Shanthi" and was planning to move there on 22nd April, when this tragic incident took place.
KS Chitra is currently 47 years old and she had received her daughter Nandana in December 2003 on birth star Rohini Nakshatram.
It will be difficult for Chitra to get another child at this age when considering that she had a daughter after 15 years of long waiting.
How can Chitra - Vijayshankar couple overcome this sadness.
Why Fate is so cruel sometimes. Chitra is a very good woman. Why did this happen to her.
Everyone who loves KS Chitra , please add your consoling words and regrets at this sad demise of her beloved kid.
This is a great tragedy and should not have happened especially when Kerala Malayalis were getting ready to celebrate Vishu.

Chitra is a native of Kerala and she became famous as a South Indian female singer with her debut in malayalam and later she sang in lot of other languages also.
She sang in many movies of A.R Rahman and she was an unavoidable singer in malayalam cinemas and she was been a great singer in Indian cinemas in many languages.
Nandana is a First Standard student of Kids Central School at Kotturpuram in Chennai.

Seven years back I lost my daughter Cuckoo. I saw the photo of Nandana in the newspapers, a replica of my Cuckoommy. God was kind towards us, He gave us them who are embodiments of love, though only for a short time. Thank him for it. It was his decision to withdraw them from us also. Suffer it.
