Pan Masala and Mouth Cancer

Pan Masala is a slow poison that will cause painful death to people who are using it continuously.

India is having the highest number people suffering from oral cancer due to use of Pan masala which is sold under different brand names.

Chewing Tobacco increases the chances of mouth cancer which is more dangerous than smoking tobacco or cigarettes.

Young school and college children are usually the victims of Pan Masala (Chewing tobacco).

Most of them start using Pan Masala as an experiment or due to the pressure from friends.

This product causes easy addiction which is very difficult to overcome.

The early symptoms of oral cancer caused by Pan Masala products is a white painful formation inside the mouth.

Early diagnosis has helped many people to save their tongues and mouth from getting destroyed for ever.

The Supreme Court has said that from 1st March 2011 , Pan Masala, Gutkha, Khaini, Chewing tobacco .etc. should not be sold in plastic sachets or covers.

Selling of Pan Masala brands or presence of Pan vendors near the schools is also prohibited.

It may be hard to believe that a good percentage of mouth ulcer or cancer patients are children of age 12 to 20.

It becomes difficult to open the mouth as the Oral cancer starts proceeding.

Areca Nut which is taken from Areca palm is the main ingredient of Pan from hundreds of years ago. It is used with Betel leaves and lime and chewed by males and females. This is comparatively less harmful.

When tobacco and special ingredients are mixed with this Pan and when it is available in market in packets , it becomes more dangerous.

There is a practise of filling Pan masala powder inside the betel leaves and selling it as Pan.

This is used by large number of people in villages and metropolitan cities which causes widespread mouth cancer.

Even educated people working in Multinational companies also fall prey to pan masala products.

More protests should be organised by people to stop the sale of chewing tobacco in shops.

One thing to be noted is that , the business men who are owning the Pan Masala Companies will not give Pan Masala to their own children , because they know the depth of the danger caused by this poison.

In United States of America also there are thousands of people suffering from oral cancer caused by Chewing Tobacco.

Lot of teenagers are becoming addicts of Pan Masala and becoming cancer patients within no time.

Why companies selling Tobacco products , cigarettes , Pan .etc are not closed down by the Government.

The Chewing tobacco is destroying the younger generations.

The Nicotine in these products easily enters the body through mouth tissues which accelerates sudden cancer.

People of all ages irrespective of men and women use Pan Masala, Shambhu, Gutkha .etc. thinking that it is a mouth freshner.

Many advertisements used to come in Television channels in India and abroad encouraging the use of Pan Masala products.

All such ads were banned by the Government after realising the dangers associated with use of Pan masala.

I have added photos of people who are suffering from oral cancer and mouth diseases due to the use of Pan Masala.

I am against the use of Pan masala and i hope that this will be a good educative guide that will awake pan masala addicts from this slow death.
